Genomics of population outbreaks in an emerging model system – neutral and adaptive evolution in the spruce bark beetle.
I am responsible for assessing the genetic structure and genome-wide variation in the spruce bark beetle. Also, I am planning to do the reconstruction of linkage maps by using pedigree-based data.
Mutation rate in spruce bark beetle. Funded by the Polish National Science Centre (NCN) PRELUDIUM19 grant. Principal investigator
The aim of this project is to make a direct estimation of the mutation rate in a spruce bark beetle via deep whole-genome resequencing of parents and offspring.
The direct estimation of the mutation rate inferred in this project will provide a necessary parameter not only for population genetic studies on bark beetles but also can be used as a proxy mutation rate in studying population genetics of other Coleoptera groups.
