Dr inż. Maciej Ejsmond

I’m theoretical biologist interested in several fields of evolutionary ecology and particularly attracted by research questions related to population genetics and life-history evolution.  My research philosophy is to understand mechanisms underlying biological phenomena.

My research concern theoretical studies on host-pathogen interactions and mate choice driven by the population genetics of Major Histocompatibility Complex genes. In my work on life-history evolution I investigate how changes in seasonality and climatic conditions affect evolution of body size, growth and breeding strategies.

I have background in marine biology and plant ecophysiology and I am not afraid of crossing borders of disciplines while running research.
